typemoon

Point

I'm questioning what the purpose of this article is. Feels like a miscellaneous collection of mentions of a real-life topic rather than a term or place or character really relevant to the franchise. Should there be a page for Blood and every time it's mentioned too? The moment a wiki starts to make pages for miscellaneous every day life concept (such as water) like it's Wikipedia instead of a fandom wiki, it loses the plot IMO. --The Lord Reader (talk) 23:11, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

I don't advocate for creating articles for things like "water" or "oxygen", but Type Moon is a franchise that addresses real life physics a lot. Light enabling time travel for example is one of the fundamental principles behind Warping. We also have Spiritrons being basically photons.GuessWhoYoutube (talk) 08:40, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
I also think that given the magnitude of Type Moon, it's beneficial to have articles like this compiling all the statements we have regarding a certain topic. It operates as a pseudo navigation tab, allowing people to keep track of everything mucho more easily.GuessWhoYoutube (talk) 08:46, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
I think it's worth having an article when the subject in the universe has properties or traits that don't exist in the real world. Like if Water in the Nasuverse had myriad properties that don't exist in the real world, like harming vampires or some such, it might be worth creating an independent article. Obviously prioritise inclusion in other articles where relevant, but it can be useful.Hawkeye2701 (talk) 13:36, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
General topics can certainly have articles if there's enough relevant in-universe info, but I'd agree this one seems kind of unnecessary. I can't think of too many scenarios where someone is going to click on light or light year and expect to find a page. It has a lot of bits and pieces that don't really need to be covered, and certain things that are just flourish rather than serious statements. I'd probably cut everything except faster than light travel, merge that somewhere, and create a redirect just for that. EGGS (talk) 17:59, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm still not convinced of the utility. Yes the wiki has pages of real life topics, but generally they tie into the fictional world of TYPE-MOON more. Universe, Time, Earth, and Moon are all about existing concepts, but their mechanics and origins are fundamentally different from reality and impact the setting tremendously, therefore their existence is invaluable, because any user might want to search them up to see their differences from reality. Likewise, real-life countries have differing histories from reality and relevant locations to stories within the universe. Whereas light is just...the exact same as in reality? All the page does is give its definition, and then list a bunch of examples faster than light. It doesn't feel as substantial or connected to the wider world, just a list of stuff already covered elsewhere. I used Blood for a reason because it would be the exact same: characters have different blood types, vampires need blood, blood carries magical energy, but also...it's still blood, the exact same thing as in reality, and the rest is just listing examples of its use in-story. You might as well make a page for Sex (the various characters having sex, the succubi/incubi, tantric ritual, Kiara's cult), height (listed profile heights, Waver/Shirou/Kirei jumping in height way past puberty, Arcueid/Bunyan/Altera/Kingprotea/various others shifting in sizes), or even glasses of all things. But they would all just feel like copy pasting dictionary definitions and list stuff rather than really explaining a concept of actual importance in the setting. I've seen other wiki list random normal words, and everytime it feels like a slippery slope of making pages for normal things that don't necessarily warrant them, while it is mocked as silly online (the Star Wars Water example chosen for this very reason as it is a meme) and an example of wiki being filled with random and useless info. Might be just me, but I just really don't see the point of a Light article, when Warp and Spiritron can exist just fine without it, same as how we can have a Saber page without also having a page explaining what a sword is. --The Lord Reader (talk) 19:43, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
